The 7-MW solar system has been completed for the Arkansas Water District

  • October 21, 2026
Madison Energy Infrastructure and Verogy have completed a 7.2-megawatt solar system for the Beaver Water District (BWD) in northwestern Arkansas. The project is expected to generate approximately 12,300 megawatt-hours annually, meeting 15% to 20% of the district's electricity demand.

"This solar facility enhances our ability to provide safe, economical, and reliable water to serve our community," said M. Ryan Cridle (P.E.), CEO of Beaver Water District. "It reduces long-term operational costs, supports regional development, and strengthens our commitment to sustainability. Our customers will benefit from this investment for decades to come."

Located in Lowell, Arkansas, the Beaver Water District serves over 425,000 customers in northwestern Arkansas. The district has received national recognition for its sustainability achievements, including the 2023 Sustainable Water Management Award from the Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies. Through a competitive RFP process, BWD selected Madison Energy Infrastructure to implement the solar project, with Madison responsible for development, contracting, and financing, while collaborating with Verogy to oversee design, procurement, permitting, and construction. BWD estimates the solar installation will save $7 to $11 million in costs over its entire lifecycle, helping manage long-term operational expenses amid the continuous growth in water demand.
